Analysis Plus designs cables around a hollow oval conductor geometry, developed through electrical modelling rather than the conventional assumption that a round conductor is the obvious starting point. Founded in 1993 as a research and design company, the American business is associated with engineer Mark Markel. Its Hollow Oval approach is intended to address how current distributes through a conductor as frequency changes. The catalogue spans home-audio connections and professional instrument cables, linking hi-fi systems with the recording and performing side of music. Speaker cables and interconnects sit alongside power and digital connections, with different conductor materials and constructions across the range.

Crowson Technology specialises in tactile-motion systems that let viewers feel low-frequency information through their seats without asking the loudspeakers or subwoofers to create extreme sound-pressure levels. Its Shadow-8 actuators are placed beneath seating feet or incorporated into compatible chairs, where they convert the bass channel into controlled vertical motion. Unlike small eccentric-mass “buzzers,” the system is designed to follow the waveform of film soundtracks and music, so effects can include the weight and timing of bass as well as obvious impacts. Single- and dual-motion Shadow-8 versions can be combined with Crowson D-501 or D-701 amplifiers, motion isolators and bass-management settings to suit the number and mass of seats. Because the energy is applied mechanically to the listener’s chair, each installation can add tactile extension without increasing room noise to the same degree. Crowson’s niche is therefore specific and useful: a purpose-built fourth dimension for premium home cinema, simulation and gaming systems, with actuators, amplification and seating integration developed as one package.

QED is a British cable specialist founded in 1973, when serious discussion of a hi-fi system rarely extended to the wire between amplifier and loudspeakers. Its decisive early product was 79 Strand, released in 1976 and widely recognised as the first specialist loudspeaker cable sold as a considered audio component. That history matters because it explains the brand better than a list of “premium materials”: QED has spent decades relating cable geometry, conductor area, resistance, inductance and capacitance to the electrical load seen by an amplifier. The company made that work unusually visible in The Genesis Report, its research study of loudspeaker-cable behaviour. Technologies that followed include Aircore arrangements, which divide the conductor into separately insulated bundles to control magnetic interaction, and X-Tube geometry, which distributes conductors around a hollow core to reduce the rise in impedance caused by skin effect. Golden Anniversary XT applies a newer X-Tube Plus version, while Supremus is the no-compromise flagship with silver-plated oxygen-free copper and Airloc cold-weld terminations. Reference, Signature and Performance ranges cover analogue interconnects, speaker, subwoofer, USB, Ethernet, optical and coaxial digital cables; Ultra High Speed HDMI and active optical designs address modern video bandwidths, and QED Professional serves custom installation. QED’s strength is therefore continuity of engineering: from the inexpensive 79 Strand to current analogue and digital links, the product is defined by a stated electrical problem and a repeatable construction rather than decorative language alone.

Sales Channels:
  • Dealer & Distributor Network — The traditional sales model where products are sold through a network of authorized, independent retail stores and custom installers. This is the primary channel for most specialized Hi-Fi brands.
  • Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) — The brand sells its products directly to end-users through its own official website, bypassing traditional retail channels. A rapidly growing model in the industry.
  • Custom Installation (CI) Channel — Products are sold primarily through professional firms that design and install integrated smart home and audio-visual systems. This channel is crucial for architectural and high-end integrated solutions.
  • Mass Market Retail — Products are available in large, non-specialized consumer electronics chain stores. This typically applies to more mainstream product lines from larger brands.
  • Brand-Owned Stores / Showrooms — The brand operates its own physical, flagship retail stores or dedicated showrooms to offer a direct and immersive brand experience. This is the least common model, typically used by top-tier brands.
